Registered Veterinary Technician

Our practice is excited to add another Registered Veterinary Technician to our team! We would love a self-starter who is enthusiastic, positive, and detail oriented. Our team likes to laugh, have fun, and work together to make a difference in the lives of our furry loved ones. Come help us create a new and exciting practice! The ideal candidate is a Registered Veterinary Technician with at least 2 years’ prior experience in veterinary medicine.

The Registered Veterinary Technician is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our clients. You will be responsible for helping answer phones and schedule appointments, address client medical questions, maintain accurate medical records, update reminders, and assist the doctors with all appointments. Our technicians will also assist during surgical and dental procedures including obtaining dental radiographs and monitoring anesthesia. Our hospital performs in-house laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, bandages, wound care, and overall general practice treatments. Fear free animal restraint is a bonus. The position requires someone that is excellent at handling difficult or emotional situations with care and compassion. Professional phone etiquette is a must. Operating Hours: Tuesday-Friday 9:00 am-4:00 pm; Saturday 9:00 am-2:00 pm (hours likely to expand in near future)

Essential Functions:

  • Able to perform basic animal handling and restraint
  • Be able to accurately position for radiographs
  • Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery
  • Perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs
  • Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights as well as providing client education
  • Collect and prepare diagnostic samples
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Assist in maintaining practice equipment
  • Assist veterinarian performing surgery
  • Assist veterinarians in any other assigned tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness of surgery suite, treatment area, and exams rooms for all surfaces
  • Support DEA compliance as it relates to the role
  • Any other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Colorado
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 40 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 40 pounds with assistance
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
  • Computer skills, MS office applications, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Englewood, CO 80110: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Veterinary: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (Preferred)
